Guangzhou

We are spending our days right now just finishing up required paper work, visa applications, and all the other necessary stuff to return to the USA with Faith. Guangzhou is full of beautiful parks, so we have spent hours roaming around them getting used to our new family. Faith is a lot of fun and very independent. She & her little friend Ellie could really get into mischief if left unattended...so needless to say we keep very watchful eyes on them. I recorded some of their endless chatter in their native language & can't wait to have someone translate it for us.
The hotel has a fabulous swimming pool, so going for an afternoon swim is a very popular thing to do. Thankfully i believe that Faith is going to be a little fish like her big sister...a good thing since the jet skis and water activities are a big part of our summers. :) The first time we went down to the pool, Emily & I got in & she stayed on the side catching the balls that we threw to her, then she moved to the edge of the pool then a few minutes later she was in. Today we picked up some floaties & a swim ring for her to play with & that was a huge hit...like I said she is very independent, so this gave her much more freedom with out sinking to the bottom. :) She tried to do it on her own the other day & figured out quickly that she needed help...then was happy for us to help her. :) She is not real fond of the swim caps that are required here...then again neither are we...you will notice there will be no pictures of Mommy with her designer cap on.
We have a a lovely room on the 32 floor of the Asia International Hotel...the ledge int he room is very wide, so the girls like sitting up there to look out. Beautiful view on low smog days.
We hired a lady to take us shopping yesterday. Her name is Ann & she is from redthreadchina.com...if any of you are adopting from here, I highly recommend getting in touch with her. We went places that we would never have gotten to experience with out her. Some places I would chose to not experience again...but once was great. :) We have bought so much that Jeff had to buy another suitcase. Ha! Can't wait to see her on Easter Sunday in her traditional clothes...so precious. She was so excited to go shopping! The next day when the whole group met down in the lobby to go somewhere, she was so proud to show them her new shoes that light up & her pink outfit. She & Ellie compare all of their treasures. Very sweet. We have also learned that treasures go under her pillow.

  1. We met you yesterday at the medical office. We were there with our very tiny 18 month old and we know Chris & Craig from our stay in Nanning. I passed our email and blog to them. But then Paula Johns is in my group and she had sent me the information about Ann, it also had your blog on it and I recognized your family. Our blog is www.web.me.com/bdobbertin/Dobbertin_Family/Welcome & my email is bdobbertin@gmail.com We are going with Ann this afternoon. Should be fun! Enjoy your last few days in Guangzhou!
